Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems
RECALL NOTICE 25A77-86

ISSUE

Long-term research conducted by Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems in conjunction with the NFCL Office of Employee Welfare has determined that NFCL transhuman employees upgraded with the Versions 1.00 through 1.34 Jotunn Security Suite may suffer from premature joint deterioration linked to weight-bearing problems resulting from this model's fiber-reinforced, Durapolymer-coated skeletal system, Jotunn Sub-Dermal Ballistic Protection System (JSDBPS), regulator-generated extensive musculature, and other weight-increasing upgrades.

AFFECTED MODELS

Type M-07-S, Able Sailor, Second Model, w/ security suite, Batches 1-5
Type F-08-S, Security Officer, Second Model, w/security suite, Batch 1
Type M-08-S, Security Officer, Second Model, w/ security suite, Batches 1-2
Type M-08V-S Security Officer, Second Model, Valet variant w/ security suite, Batch 1
Type F-09V-S Stewardess, Second Model, Valet variant w/ security suite, Batches 1-7
Type M-09V-S, Steward, Second Model, Valet variant w/ security suite, Batches 1-12
Type F-10-S, Entertainer, Second Model, w/ security suite, Batches 1-2
Type M-10-S, Entertainer, Second Model, w/ security suite, Batches 1-2
Type M-10CF-S, Entertainer, Second Model, "Captain Fenny" performer variant w/ security suite, Batch 1

In this range, the most likely affected individuals are Type F-09V-S and M-09V-S Stewards.  Security Officer M-08-S and F-08-S models are least likely to be affected, but should still be examined by a Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems specialist if possible.

Note that later batches of these recalled models are fitted with the Version 1.23 or later security suite, which features 50% lighter ballistic trauma plates and is less likely to be affected.

ACTION PLAN

For Active Duty Employees

Your supervisor will inform you whether or not this recall affects you.  If it does, upon arrival at the next port of call, NFCL will place you on Medical Leave B (90% pay), transfer you to the port Medical Unit, and make arrangements for you to be sent to the nearest Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems facility for examination and, if needed, corrective surgery.  You will be transported via NFCL EmployeeLink systems and issued 20 New Fenrir Sterlings Per Diem.

You will be given new orders by the Director of Medicine to lay out the specific details of your movement.

In the meantime, please continue your regular duties.

For Former Employees

NFCL Employee Union will contact all affected models within 72 hours based on their contact information.

*PLEASE CHECK YOUR NFCL INTRANET PROFILE NOW TO ENSURE THAT YOUR INFORMATION IS CORRECT*

If no contact is made with employee, all affected individuals with have 30 standard days (based on New Fenrir calendar) to make contact with either the NFCL Employee Union or NFCL Central Office.  If no contact is made after that time, affected individuals may not take advantage of this recall and will have to pay for their examination and corrective surgery out of pocket or via third party insurance providers.  NFCL will NOT cover these costs under standard corporate healthcare plans (see NFCL Employee Standard Health and Wellness Contract, Appendix J4, Section 3, "Recalls of Transhuman Employees").

Once contact is made, NFCL will schedule an appointment at the nearest Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems medical facility for examination and, if necessary, corrective surgery free of charge.  Note that NFCL and Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems will NOT reimburse travel charges.  These are the responsibility of the individual.

After receiving corrective surgery, affected models will also be allotted two (2) return visits within the next 5 calendar years after corrective surgery (based on Newfenrir calendar) to a Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems facility for followup examination, the costs for which will be fully reimbursed.  Should these examinations detect further abnormalities determined to be a result of the above-mentioned issue, we will consider additional corrective surgeries, free of charge.

POSSIBLE CORRECTIVE SURGERIES

All models determined to be affected will have their hip and knee joints removed and replaced by RH32A and HH94A Heavy Composite Joints for their appropriate model.  These are modified versions of the heavy duty load-bearing joints used by present-day NFCL transhuman employees equipped with the Jotunn Security Suite and intended specifically for retrofit to older models.  (estimated 14 days recovery time)

ALTERNATE OPTIONS

If complications prevent this procedure, affected models will have their JSDBPS panels removed (estimated 90 days recovery time).  The individual's Myogenesis Regulator will be set to Civilian Ruleset and they will be given counseling on nutrition and weight loss.

We at Jotunn Heavy Surgical Hospital Systems do hope that you are satisfied with your body and are certain that this recall will address this issue.

Thank you for the privilege of letting us improve you beyond human limitations.
